Music for Whistler

Music which has a descriptive element - not symphonic or operatic works, but instrumental pieces which set a scene, or describe a mood. The program includes the evocative sounds of the concert harp, probably the most popular instrument in the London and Parisian drawing rooms in Whistler's day, a nineteenth century concert flute and nineteenth and early twentieth century pianos.
